About Anni Seed

Anni Seed is a cartoon mule deer fawn, created by animator Hart Richter (1895-1934) in the year 1920.  Being the father of two daughters at the time, Hart wanted to create a female character.  He frequently referred to his daughter June as "Juniper" and his daughter Cressida as "Cress," so he decided to name his characters after herbs and spices.  Soon after, he created a second character, a reindeer named Pepper Mint, specifically for Cressida, while June claimed Anni as her own.  Following the births of his son Basil, and his youngest daughter Rosemary, he created two more deer - a fallow deer buck named Cory Ander, and a Chinese water deer named Chen Pi.  And after the advent of talking picture technology, Hart allowed his children to voice the characters he had created for them.  But tragedy struck when Hart was killed trying to protect bystanders from a mob of angry unemployed workers who had resorted to unnecessary violence.  His wife, Carolyn, and children were inexperienced in animation and felt uncomfortable with letting someone outside the family take over their characters, so they decided to not continue the series until someone in the family was capable of bringing the characters back to life.

Decades later, an enchanter dabbling in dark magic (and a distant relative) was trying to evade capture by the police, and attempted a summoning spell to gather mystic forces to his aid.  But his spell went wonky, and he just happened to be in the same building where the original animations were being housed.  As a result of the bizarre circumstances, the four cartoon deer were literally brought to life instead, who were only too happy to use their unique abilities to capture the enchanter and bring him to justice.
Afterward, the four decided to meet up with their animators descendants, since they considered them to be family.  Anni ended up meeting June's grandson, Andrew, who had a major pessimism problem.  Figuring that her whole purpose in life was to make people smile, she decided to start with Andrew and took him on as her personal project.  Though he was initially irritated by her antics, he lightened up and even let her move in with him when he started college.  Currently, she goes through life with quirkiness, creativity, and exploiting the Rules of Funny as much as possible, which is often, and constantly drags Andrew along for the ride.
